Mark John Isola is an author and English professor, who received his Ph.D. in English from Tufts University. His fiction has appeared in the magazines Mandate and Playguy and in print anthologies, including Skin & Ink and Pay for Play. While posted on the web, his short fiction was well received by over a million readers worldwide. He is currently publishing short stories from his book Inky Flesh: Stories Written by the Body while he finishes writing his first novel.
Mark John’s scholarly essays have been published in the books Generation X Professors Speak: Voices from Academia, Boys’ Love Manga: Essays on the Sexual Ambiguity and Cross-Cultural Fandom of the Genre, Queers in American Popular Culture, and in the Journal of Homosexuality. He has also presented papers at the Modern Language Association, the American Literature Association, and other literary and cultural conferences.
Currently teaching English, cultural studies, and writing at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, MJ divides his time between Boston and Provincetown, Massachusetts.
